Intern-Continuous Improvement/IT

Basic Purpose of Job:

Union Pacific Railroad is looking for interested IT students who would like to work 15-35 hours per week in the Fuel Conservation group with Continuous Improvement in Omaha, Nebraska.

Accountabilities:

  • Web development using Coldfusion 9 and AJAX

  • Desktop development using Java and Perl

  • Database design and queries using SQL

Preferred Education, Training, Experience or Skills:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree Sophomore status or above; working towards a bachelor/graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, or related field.

  • Basic programming skills Working knowledge of one or more of the following: Internet development - HTML, Coldfusion, AJAX, Java, PHP; desktop development using Java, Spring framework, Perl, C++; Object-Oriented Design/Development Methodologies; SQL - SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata; Eclipse or another IDE
