Bilingual Logistics Service Representative (Spanish)

Basic Purpose of Job:

The Logistics Service Representative will manage customer transportation requirements by assuring prompt and courteous handling of customer inquiries and problems, coordinate resolution with transportation personnel to meet customer needs, accurately document shipment movement and maintain customer correspondence and record files.

Schedule:

Successful candidate must be willing to work 1st shift, 2nd shift or 3rd shift, including holiday and weekend work. 1st shift is 7am-4p or 8am-5pm, 2nd shift is 2pm-10pm or 3pm-11pm, 5 days per week. 3rd shift is 9pm-7am, 4 days per week.

This is a UPDS Band A position.

Accountabilities:
  • Customer Service: Anticipate and exceed expectations of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement. Respond to customer inquiries, order requests, instructions or problems; explains technical information concerning value-added services and procedures in non-technical terms; identify customer requirements for equipment supply and coordinates efforts to meet these needs; review and update customer records; manage the problem resolution process for customers.

  • Communication: Communicate clearly and persuasively by assuring prompt and curteous handling of customer service inquiries and problems, corrdinating resolution with transportation personnel to meet customer needs.

  • Document Work Activities: Initiate quality process by documenting customer issues; generate customer requested reports, verify and document accessorial events; maintain systematic files of forms, correspondence, and record ensuring periodic review and updating.

  • Proactively Monitor and Document Transportation Activities: Maintain records and complete all required reports detailing service performance; maintain regular contact with various modes of transportation to assure proper handling of all shipments.

  • Critical Thinking/Problem Solving: Develop recommendations that allow for continuous improvement and increased productivity in the work area.Taking a proactive, analytical approach to identifying and solving problems, developing and implementing plans to promote growth and profitability, and managing risk. Alternative solutions should be established for recurring issues in customer transportation plans.

  • Teamwork Skills: Demonstrate effective teamwork with other individuals and groups to improve work processes.

  • Results Orientation: Setting performance standards to meet expectations and demonstrating drive and accountability.

Required Education, Training, Experience or Skills:
  • A Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, Marketing, Accounting, Finance or related discipline

  • 1 year(s) experience / knowledge in customer service and ability to interface with personnel at all levels of the company

  • 1 year(s) experience / knowledge in time management and organization

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Advanced communication skills
    Proficient spoken and written Spanish/English language skills

  • Advanced interpersonal skills and an ability to demonstrate effective teamwork with other individuals and groups

Preferred Education, Training, Experience or Skills:
  • 1 year(s) experience / knowledge in workflow and process improvement and experience proactively identifying and implementing solutions to recurring problems and/or experience making improvements in the work area

  • Intermediate Microsoft Suite skills

  • Intermediate typing skills and ability to quickly and accurately record and communicate
