Medical and Prescription Insurance

Non-Union Employees

We offer different types of medical plans. Our benefits portfolio includes two High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP) which offer a combination of low monthly premiums and a high annual deductible. Under these medical plans, both medical and prescription drug expenses apply to the plan deductible. These HDHP plans can be paired with a Health Savings Account (HSA). The HSA can be used to pay for the annual deductible and any out-of-pocket covered medical costs.

Union Pacific also offers a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan which has a lower medical deductible but a higher premium. This plan also includes a prescription benefit which is based on coinsurance.

All of our medical plans include preventive care covered at 100% with no deductible.

Union Employees

Union employee benefits plans are determined through collective bargaining agreements and are unique to each respective union and operating area.
